Civil War Days in Canisteo
June 11, 12, and 13
This is a 3 Day Living History and Battle event. Rated as a "Maximum Effort Event"
Visitors can mingle with more than a hundred re-enactors, who will share information on their lives,
yet each day, the muskets and cannon fire will disrupt the tranquility of our Valley
as the grounds transform into a Battle Field.
3 Day Admission is only $3.00 per person/ $8.00 per family
Friday
Re-enactors will start setting up camps
Friday night- Infantry and artillery Night Firing
Saturday
9:00am- Parade through the Village of Canisteo…Wagons, Horses, Cannon, and Costume
Camps will be open to the pubic after the Parade
Throughout the day, different speakers in the Legion Hall
The Legion Hall will also be setup as a museum of Civil War Artifacts
There will be Medical Impressions at the Field Hospitals throughout the day
11:00am - a Ladies Tea in the Pavilion
There will be Civil War activities for the children
3:00 pm- The Large Blue and Grey Battle … Main Field behind the Legion
8:00 - 11:00 pm ~ Period Dance with period music is open to public.
this will be held under the BigTent on the Legion Field
Camps are closed to public overnight
Sunday
9:00 am- All Camps are open to public
10:00 am~ Period Church Services

The 21st Georgia Volunteer Infantry presents this event for educational purposes,
so that you may experience what it was really like during the Civil War.
The 21st Geogia Volunteer Infantry is a nonprofit organization
and together with the Canisteo American Legion,
sponsors these activities in remembrance of those who gave their lives during this time period.
